Here is a recent review written by Mich W. of OKC on behalf of Trapper’s Fishcamp & Grill. Enjoy!
The exterior is so cool, looks like a movie set….when you walk in and want to be super cheesy like myself you gotta take a picture with the giant bear!!! So it smells so good when you get to the doors, it just permeates Cajun spices!!! Now my stomach is growling and we are greeted and seated by very nice hostess and server Andy who was outstanding, the ambiance is a dim lit open area with a good size bar and the good old hunting Louisiana back woods swamp theme, love it!! Now to the food, we started with the 1/2 order of fresh oysters accompanied with horseradish, lemon wedges and cocktail sauce that’s super zesty!! Alligator cooked 2 ways- deep fried golden brown and blackened with strong spices!! My favorite was the blackened . Next was the coconut shrimp which was super crispy and had an amazing dipping sauce that was sweet and sticky, the side we chose was Cajun potato salad that is truly unique it’s got a tangy zip to it…YUM, after that was the crawfish etoufe again filled with louisanna flavors and a bit on the spicy side but I can handle it, for the side we chose red beans and rice which had a classic taste of rich beans cooked in spices and topped with a yellow rice, also it came with a piece of buttered crispy toast…only problem is we wanted more so we just asked for more. LAST we had to try the gumbo because yeah it just wouldn’t be right if we didn’t, it was delicouse with robust flavors and filled with shrimp and sausage topped with rice! BTW I love the music selection they play…lots of rhythm and blues a must try in my book!!! -Mich
